Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My goal is to ensure that throughout the year my 21 kindergartens would grow from little children to little humans that are able to communicate with others, read and write, and make relationships.
My students are amazing little busybodies.
They are active and love to be engaged in their learning through movement. Most of my students come from low-income families. Meaning that this kindergarten year is their first experience in the classroom. My desire is to engage them, setting a foundation for a love for learning that will last them through jr. high, high school, and even college.
My Project
Both items in my cart will allow my students the opportunity to sit in different chairs that will make learning more accessible to my active students. The wiggle seats will be able to travel around with the students who need them and the floor chairs will be stationed at a low table in my classroom.
I have found that when my students are comfortable their learning increases as they are better able to engage in what is being taught.
I believe that students should have access to different materials in order to be successful. This project will pioneer flexible seating in my classroom.
