My students need stools, playing cards, dice set, and other engaging materials to get excited to come to school every day. Many math games can be played with only a deck of cards or dice, and read alouds are loved by all students.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Second graders are still excited about school and learning, and my goal is to fuel that momentum and make learning magical! I strive to provide engaging learning experiences for all my students so that they look forward to coming to my classroom each and every day.
Many students are from low-income families and have limited access to books in their homes.
Some of my little ones have their first literacy related experiences at school. My students need as much practice with reading as possible so that they can grow into lifelong readers and learners.
My Project
2nd graders need a comfortable area to practice math facts, and the stools will allow my students to have a comfortable place to sit while learning.
Students make the most progress when learning is fun, so why not play games to develop addition and subtraction fluency?
Learning does not need to be a worksheet, and these materials will help me create a fun environment to learn and grow in. With these materials, you will find us playing Oh No, 99! with cards, or rolling dice to add or subtract, or using the dice on a game board, or a even a new game, too!
