My students need cardboard virtual reality headsets (otherwise known as Google Cardboard.)

Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students are bright, curious, and insightful. I learn just as much from my students as they learn from me. My students are the reason I never find myself dreading coming to work.
I have created this project with the hopes of bettering their experience in my classroom, because each of my students is more than deserving of it.
This school is located in a Title I district, so there are limited funds available to venture outside of the classroom.
Field trips are great, but there is always the risk of someone being left out due to funds. A class set of Google Cardboard (cardboard "virtual reality" headsets) would solve this problem, along with many others.
These headsets would make it possible to see the world without ever leaving our classroom.
My students can visit Harper Lee's hometown in Mississippi before starting To Kill a Mockingbird - and I can have them "back" by lunchtime. A class set of Google Cardboard would cut out the hassle of arranging for transportation, finding chaperones, and selling candy bars so my students might get to go on one field trip a year.
Virtual reality will never replace the benefits of an actual field trip, but it would open a lot of doors in my English classroom. Access to these resources would give my students to opportunity to experience places they will likely never be able to visit.
