This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Have you ever tried to do something that seemed to come so easily to others but really frustrated you? During my reading block, I attend to some of the lowest performing Kindergrtners at the entire school. Help me to take them from frustrated to FLUENT!

My school is one of nine turn around schools in an urban school district of Charlotte, NC.

83% of our school is on free or reduced lunch and there are several other environmental factors working against them each day. With that being said, they are some of the most confident, caring, and eager little Kindergarteners I have ever met and I believe with the right resources, nothing can stop them!

My Project

The centers I am requested are all higher level literacy centers focused on work building, word work, blending, and fluency focused. These resources will take my students to the next level-helping them to build necessary skills to get them 1st grade ready!

This project is SO important because time is of the essence.

I need to take this group of lower performing students and more them several reading levels before the end of the year. I know they can do it and having these resources will make it possible!
