I currently teach K-5 resource in South Dakota. As many educators know, the more resources you have, the more successful your students will be! I believe in providing the best educational experience for my students and my hope is that my students will leave not only with more academic knowledge but will move forward as even better people!
My current caseload consists of Junior Kindergarten through 4th grade.
Not only do I have a wide range of ages and grades, but I also have a wide range of needs varying from Autism to mild disabilities to behavior challenges. My students vary in SES, learning needs, and family backgrounds. Most students are from the neighborhood but at times, the students can be transient in and out of the district.
My hope is to provide resources I may not typically be able to provide (or afford) for my students by myself alone. It takes a village sometimes and I am willing to go the extra mile for my kiddos at any and all times! Your generosity does not go unnoticed and certainly means the world to me and my students!
My Project
The resources I have chosen will be used in the students' daily curriculum. Classroom games like Fun Express Reading Dice and Bananagrams will be used with the daily curriculum to help build math and reading foundational skills. TIME for kids will be utilized to help students gain access to current events at their instructional level to help build meaningful conversations and make connections from the world to here in our neighborhood/school. The electronic LCD drawing pads will serve as a replacement for whiteboards and students would find them super engaging! Organization materials will be used to make sure all students have a "home" for their materials in my classroom and to also help build responsibility for their items and their share in their learning. I have put a lot of thought into the items requested in order to reach all of my students at various grade levels and know the items will be put to great use! Students learn best when they are invested and engaged, which is why I also chose various games and materials to make students excited to learn!
