My students need a listening center and some on level books for small group time! My classroom is also in need of storage for library books, along with reading and math small group activities!
Teaching in a low-income, high poverty school has its challenges, but boy, it is the passion of my life. I walk out of my classroom every morning, and see 27 of the most beautiful faces you could imagine! The moment they enter my doors, I want them to know they are loved, special, and appreciated. It doesn't matter what is going on outside of my classroom, in my room...they matter!
My students are smart, funny, and eager to please!
Many of my students face daily struggles, whether it be learning disabilities, moving from home to home, being hungry, not getting enough sleep, yet every day they overcome! I may not be able to control their home lives, but I know that I can create an environment of comfort, security, and stability.
My Project
It is vitally important that I create a classroom where my students LOVE TO READ! I am asking for a read along literacy station where my kiddos will be able to follow along while someone reads them the story! I have chosen so many awesome books on CD that will help to encourage fluency, along with teach my kiddos to just LOVE reading!
Small group time is so important in ANY classroom!
I plan on using the math and reading activities as a way to encourage my kiddos to master skills while having fun! This provides an alternative to paper/pencil and the kids love it!
Lastly, I am asking for storage bins, organization pockets, construction paper, and other organization materials to help create a classroom environment free from chaos. A clear mind is a mind that is ready to learn and I am so excited to implement all of these organizational supplies in my room!
