This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a high school special education teacher. During 2020 many of my students did not do well with distance learning. Many of them lost critical learning time that widened the gap between where they are and where they should be. For students with disabilities, COVID-19 added to their academic hardships. I would like to help my students build upon their reading skills that were impacted by distance learning. With these resources, I will be able to guide my students, teaching them reading strategies and literary devices, and hopefully inspire a renewed love of literature.
