Mrs. Williams from Williston FL is requesting lab equipment through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.

Mrs. Williams Scientific Scholars!

My students need an aquaterrium planting tank, flower mini dome, veggie mini dome, and solar oven to create hands-on environmental science activities that will capture their imagination and provide them experiences with materials that they might not otherwise have the opportunity to see and touch in real time.

My Students

I have a classroom full of fantastic learners! They are a diverse bunch, coming from every circumstance. I am challenged each day to meet them where they are, and push them just a little further. I am lucky enough to have a warm, loving, group of children who show kindness and love to those around them.

My students don't always come with the tools needed to learn, but we put in the challenging work of getting them there every day.

My Project

Our classroom will use the aquarium as a constant source of discovery and excitement for the students. Not only will they get to see the plant life growing and nourishing the fish, but they will see firsthand the importance of protecting fragile habitats for all animals. The mini dome flower growing kit will add to this discovery by showing another type of life cycle and how the two are connected in nature.

Environmental science is a key component of any science curriculum.

My students will love every new discovery they make with these fantastic materials!

The solar oven will serve as a hands-on way for the students to see the true power and energy the sun produces, and how it can be used to cook every day food. We might even be able to grow some veggies in the mini dome class kit to cook in the oven, if we are lucky!

Hands-on learning can make a huge impact on the level of engagement students have with a subject and these materials will provide a great opportunity for my students to dive in to learning!
