My Students
I have 10 students in my classroom, who all have an emotional impairment and tend to function below grade level. They range from grades 4 through 6. I look to gain reading material to help improve their reading skills, as well as their self confidence. They enjoy reading non-fiction text, as well.
My students are very hard workers and want to increase their reading scores, as well as test scores. These materials will be new and exciting to them and help motivate them to read.
My Project
Being in a classroom with multiple students at various reading levels, ranging from first to fifth grade, these reading materials will allow me to accommodate all students within my classroom.
The Power Pens, practice cards, and daily practice journals will be fun and easy ways for students to work on their reading comprehension and fluency skills. Being a new teacher, I haven’t accumulated enough resources to accommodate all reading levels, which has hindered reading growth. By allowing my students access to these materials I’ll be able to improve their reading skills, which will translate to all other subjects, as well as increased reading levels and comprehension skills.
