My Students

My students get excited when we start new projects! They love to learn and have a hunger for hands on activities. I am always impressed with their desire to learn. I have seen unmotivated students turn into students who strive for more.

I teach my students to take ownership of their learning, and they always step up to that expectation!

I always have students excited for the next project/assignment that they will be doing. The letter writing project is a project that lasts all year, and students are excited every week when we open the new mail that has come in!

My Project

By providing stamps to my students, it enables them to each write one letter per week throughout the year. They research different places such as museums, historical landmarks, colleges, and national parks to write to. In the letter that they write, they ask for a postcard in return.

My students learn about all of the wonderful features of the United States by writing letters.

The places that my students write to end up sending so much information that my students are excited to learn about these places that they normally would not know about.

My students gain so much from this project. They practice their writing skills, learn about our wonderful country, and gain human interactions with the people they write to.
