Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are sweet, curious, and energetic! They are true kindergarten students. They're inspiring, they're learning, they're ready to take kindergarten on, full speed ahead. I am excited to wake up each day to see their smiling faces. I know that when I go into our classroom that it's going to be a great day because of my students.
My students are driven by a love for learning, writing, and reading new books.
They love working with numbers in math, hands-on activities, as well as music and movement. They're amazing human beings and I'm so honored that I get to teach them this school year.
My Project
The materials I have chosen will help complete projects I have started buying for, out of pocket, in my classroom. The biggest thing is the whiteboard/clipboard combinations as well as the books for my library.
I have been very intentional to create a library that depicts diverse characters, just as each of the students in my classroom is diverse.
I have had the opportunity to attend some trainings as well as do a lot of research on my own in order to help work on diversifying my classroom and making sure that all of my students feel welcomed, recognized, and included.
