My Students
My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Many students in my classroom come to school ready to learn with a positive attitude but I sometimes find it difficult to reach all of them to get them to their fullest potential due to lack of resources from the district. My school is in a neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best varies greatly.
We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
As teachers we are always searching for new resources to use to keep our students interest and motivation levels up. We often rely on using online websites to purchase and share products that we feel will benefit all of our students.
My Project
The use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. Having these wipe off boards specifically for math will make their learning experience much easier and more fun. Having the fine line makers to use just for the math boards will allow them to write more effectively.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
The fadeless paper rolls will allow me to finally update my bulletin board backgrounds to much brighter colors to make the classroom more inviting. Also, the need for a durable pencil sharpener is so great because without sharpened pencils, the kids cannot do their work.
