My Students
My name is Nicole Lever and I teach first grade at HES in Maine. This next school year will be my seventh year teaching.
I love that every year I can help nurture, guide, teach, and inspire my students to become a tight knit classroom family.
As a family we take care of one another and make each person feel loved, valued, and respected. I take pride when my students want to come to school because it means that they feel safe, loved, and cared for. It's amazing how much they can learn when they want to be at school where they are a part of a classroom community.
My Project
Every day students come and sit at the rug for morning meeting, lessons, and community building. The rug is our main gathering space for the majority of our day.
Our classroom is in need of a new rug where students will have more room to spread out to help them feel more comfortable so they can be the very best learners.
As my classroom continues to grow, I am hoping to accommodate more students and make sure that they have enough room to stretch their legs, learn, investigate, play, and thrive in first grade. I appreciate all your help in making this an option for my first graders.
