I have been teaching for more than a decade at various schools and several different grade levels. I have taught 1st graders how to read and I have taught 8th graders algebra. I have seen hundreds of children walk in and out of my doors and shed many tears as they walked away the last day of school. I have seen my first class graduate high school, my 6th graders turn into college students, and so many move on to marriages and families of their own. My students have always been a priority for me, many times, above my own family.
I want to continue to be able to serve my students with as much enthusiasm and creativity as they deserve!
My students range from overachievers to many that need special education services. I have students from every walk of life, as well. They are all worth the extra effort and time it takes to make my classes engaging and exciting.
Hope and Wade King are known for their energy and creativity when it comes to their classroom environment and student engagement. They focus on teachers becoming a "wild card" in their classroom. We should be the unexpected twist that brings a different element to the lesson.
Get Your Teach On is a gathering of teachers that want to increase student achievement by increasing student engagement; I want to learn how to be THAT teacher, the "wild card"!
I believe that Get Your Teach On will show me how to let go of the normal routine of teachers controlling the classroom and show me how to embrace a bit more of a fun and energetic way of teaching.
To be able to go to this engagement, I need your support. Thank you for considering my project. My students will thank you, too, when I can be their "wild card"!
