Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 3 small group math classes to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who receive special education services, and need specialized math instruction. The students are always in need of math manipulatives and materials, as the students greatly benefit from multiple mediums of learning.

My Project

They materials and manipulatives will be used directly in the classroom, as part of teaching lessons, as well as hands-on learning to help with all concepts, particularly those that are more abstract. My students have a wide variety of ability and skill level, and I hope to have plenty of materials and manipulatives that they can readily access on any given day. My hope is to teach them how to access and use materials that they otherwise would not know how to relate to the math lessons we are learning as a class.
