I am so fortunate to work with wonderful little people that are making the transition from the lower elementary to upper. My students are eager little learners that need rigorous and engaging activities to keep their interest high and their minds sharp. I have also been making a transition as I have switched from a long time teaching career in middle school to the elementary. I am in desperate need of resources in order to make my classroom an exciting and engaging environment for these little minds to grow.
Having interesting and inviting center areas that focus on engaging hands on activities and an amazing library filled with a wide variety of books will ensure that students are constantly being challenged.
My Project
Last year (just weeks before school started ) I was given the opportunity to teach on the most amazing 3rd grade team. My entire teaching career (17 years) was in Middle School so I have no elementary resources.
One of the most important pieces to a great 3rd grade class is having an amazing library filled with a variety of interesting books available for young readers to dive into.
At this moment my sad little library consists of books that have been donated or discarded from the school library and other teachers.
My classroom is in need of a variety of fantastic books that appeal to the many different interests of my 3rd graders. The books that I have requested will satisfy the various interests of all of my students and hopefully lure even the most reluctant readers to grab a book.
