Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 4th grade ICT in a Title I school. My students are hard workers and enjoy spending a lot of their free time reading.
My students are 8 and 9 years old and full of wonder and love coming to school and learning.
Very few of my students have books at home, and the majority of them come from challenging backgrounds. I try to make my classroom a welcoming and safe place for them. I try to keep my classroom environment bright and engaging.
My Project
I am asking for sixty colorful book bins. These bright and beautiful book baskets will help us organize our classroom library. The students will be able to book shop through a library that will be organized by genre and level. I hope these baskets will help keep my students engaged and promote the love of reading which I try to instill in my students on a daily basis.
Having these bright and colorful baskets will allow me and my Co teacher to color code books by levels and genres which will make it easier for the students to find the appropriate books for them, which they will do on a weekly basis.
