My Students

My students come from diverse backgrounds across the city of Worcester, MA. This year our district is fully remote (at least until January), and, although students are eager to learn in any way they can, technology has been one of biggest obstacles we’ve faced with this transition!

My Project

With this project I will be able to replace my current device which will help me provide higher quality digital lessons for my students. With our district’s remote learning schedule I only see my students twice a week for 70-minute blocks, which means that every minute in our virtual classroom counts. Currently, I am using a Chromebook to conduct these digital classes. Unfortunately, the Chromebook is not equipped to handle the video calls AND other materials simultaneously, and I worry that I am not able to make the best use of our time together. This project will provide a computer with the capacity to host video conferencing and share other class materials without spending too much time waiting for assignments and other materials to load.
