My students are majority English Language Learners from a lower socio-economic community. We are located in Santa Rosa, the center of the Tubbs Fire in Northern California in October 2017.
I teach Regular and Advanced English and have very thoughtful future poets and writers that are excited to use their voices both in person and in their writing.
They are eager to use their monumental experience of the fire and starting Middle School to create stories and poems. Thank you!
"I need to sharpen my pencil!" Students are excited to learn and I provide them with pencils if they need them. At times, kids can be rough on supplies, so buying a durable pencil sharpener for writing and art will be incredibly helpful. This is why we need the Xacto 41 Sharpener which is an industrial strength sharpener that will last!
When a student can be prepared in a quick and efficient manner, they keep up with class.
If they cannot sharpen their pencil because it is broken or too many people are in line, it can take away from valuable learning.
