My students need nonfiction reading materials that promote learning across the curriculum. These two sets, NGSS Grade 2 Complete Collection and Step Into Reading: Nonfiction, will allow my students to do just that!

My Students

My students come from a small, rural community. Our school is K-2 building where 60% of the students receive free or reduced price lunch. Despite any challenges my kiddos face, each and every one of them strive to be the best second-grader they can be each day.

I strive to give my students real life experiences on a daily basis that will push them to learn up to their fullest potential.

My goal is to teach them how to become life-long learners!

My Project

Nonfiction reading provides a wide range of subjects for students to select topics that may interest them or that they may want learn more about. It also promotes learning across the curriculum. Students will be able to use these texts for inquiry based learning. They will also be able to answer questions that they may have about the world around them.

Nonfiction reading is an important part of our daily reading lives.

By spending more time with nonfiction texts, students will be able to understand the complexity of these texts and can be better prepared for the increasing academic rigor they will encounter in higher grades.
