Mrs. B's Book Club

The cost of several books in a variety of titles including Flat Stanley, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, a Kiss for Little Bear, and Ramona Quimbly from Barnes and Noble is $689, including shipping and fulfillment.

I love to read!!! I noticed this past school year in my 3rd grade class at jesse owens that my students would go to the school library and pick books specifically that dealt with topics that we had discussed in class, i.e. puffins and fiestas. I also noticed that my students loved to discuss their books with me and after conducting a mock trial about our basal story: the garden of abdul gasazi, the students loved to do different things with books. With the book club students will come from every third grade class and read books of their choosing. Each participant will have a voice in the book or subject we cover. I want to give each student a chance to pick something that will peak their interest and make the reading a whole lot more personal. Not only will we read, but we will do different things with the books, like reader's theatre that the children create or mock trials. I know that through this book club students will see that there is more to do with their books in school and out of school and that there are people out there that love to read just like them!
