MRHS Drama Needs Microphones!

My students need body microphones to bring our production to the next level and to better compete with schools with a true drama program and drama boosters.

My Students

Every year, students spend their personal time after school to participate in our Drama Club. Students come from all backgrounds to participate in this group, from students who have zero experience in theatre to students who are semi-professional. For part of the year, we learn stage craft and improvisational skills. The other part of the year, we spend time rehearsing the school musical.

Last year's production of The Addams Family musical was a hit with the highest attendance in our history!

My Project

Our production of Addams Family The Musical was the highest grossing production in our school's history and we even sold out two performances! Our theatre space is not very conducive to quality productions. We don't have an orchestra pit and we don't have fly space. Yet, we do our thing! For Addams Family, we were able to purchase 3 aerial microphones to help enhance the quality of our production.

Every year we compete in the Washington State version of the Tony Awards.

The adjudicators provided constructive feedback about the balance between the orchestra and the actors on stage. Our orchestra is placed far upstage behind the cyclorama but we need these microphones to provide the best balance between the actors and the orchestra.
