This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are inspiring, optimistic, futuristic thinkers, and strive for excellence even when faced with challenges that are out of their control. Everyday I walk into the classroom I am greeted with smiles and eager mindsets. They are phenomenal young people who share one common goal, which is to be better than they entered the classroom upon exiting. I look forward to aiding in their growth and bringing excitement to their 5th grade experience. I can not think of any other students that would be more appreciative of your generosity.

At my current school we have a saying we work with our head and hearts.

That summarizes the energy and effort my students bring on a daily basis. I could not be any luckier to be their teacher.

My Project

These materials will allow students to feel they are in a safe and fun learning environment. The Flex- Space Student Lap Desk will be used as alternative seats for my scholars who require flexibility and physical freedom during their independent work time. I often have scholars who struggle to stay engaged/focused in traditional desk. They will love this new seating arrangement.

The Flex- Space Comfy Couch, Wobble Cushions, and floor seat will enhance my shared and independent reading stations.

In the past, my scholars have found it hard to find comfortable spots in my classroom to read. The addition of these items will allow my scholars to get lost in their books and let their minds explore comfortably.
