This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are eager to learn. They've been told by many through the years that they won't make it and can see the finish line. They are so close and now come into my class for their senior year. They are in many ways, some of the lucky ones who have made it this far. With a drop out rate of near 45% in the South Bronx, they are beating the odds by simply graduating from high school.

We focus on making sure our students are college ready.

We do this by providing them skills that they will use in their academic and social lives. Technology is a big part of this.

My Project

With an abundant amount of online resources such as articles and publications, the ability to access them is important. Having an accessible iPad for the class will allow students to access articles while in class. In an effort to go green and not having to print 80 plus copies of an article, the iPad will give students the ability to digitally access the medium.

News happens in real-time, the iPad will give students and teacher alike the ability to quickly bring real-time events to the classroom.

Access to technology is crucial to student learning and engagement. Help me do this!
