My Students

My 21 third graders have been learning virtually and are starting to transition into the building. When we closed in March, students were without technology and lacked support at home. We worked tirelessly at the start of this new school year to provide a better virtual (and now hybrid) learning experience. My students largely come from low income homes and do not have access to high quality educational materials or items to help them focus during these stressful times. My class is a co-taught class, meaning I work with a general education teacher to provide multiple pathways for learning for students and try to accommodate everyone's needs within our classroom.

My Project

My students will have access to flexible seating to make their hybrid learning experience (in the building) more enjoyable. They have struggled with being able to wiggle and move while learning at home. These seats will allow them to both focus and get much needed sensory input.

Additionally, the webcam will allow me and my co-teacher to better access students who are both in our classroom and at home.

This will allow us to see our students at home and engage with them in the classroom while also service our students in the building. This will be a much better learning experience for both populations of students.
