This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My children are hard workers and they literally amaze me every day with how far they have come from August!

They have all developed a love for learning, especially for reading! Our community is super supportive of any ideas we as teachers would like to bring in to our classroom!

My Project

My children come into the classroom not reading, or ever being read to. After they enter I make it my goal for them to walk out knowing how to read. Because of that, developing listening skills are vital for Kindergartners to attain. Right now our listening center is so old that it broke, and had only allowed 1 story at a time. With MP3 players, the students can all listen to the same or different stories in the listening center.

This project will change my students' lives by allowing them the opportunity to finally hear what it's like to be read to on a daily basis by someone other than their teacher.

It also gives the students confidence, especially those who struggle, by providing them with the proper reading techniques.
