Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from varying backgrounds, all with their own unique stories. Our school is located in a small, rural community, with many students in our district coming from low-income households. Our community is small and tight-knit, which is a great place for these students to grow into kind humans.
My students are curious and have a desire to learn.
They are ambitious and are always asking to be challenged. I want to feed their curiosity and ambition, which becomes increasingly possible through the donations others may be able to provide.
My Project
Being active is something that helps my students focus and relax. When they are able to move around, they are on their game and able to do their best in all that they do. I would like these materials to help my students achieve their fullest potential. Almost all of my students participate in sports when they aren't at school, and their favorite part of the day is P.E. and recess. I want my students to be able to have an opportunity to run and play as free time, and these items will allow them to do this. Sports not only relaxes my students, but it is also a wonderful incentive for them to work hard in the classroom. Other incentives that encourage my students to work hard are flexible seating and having headphones to listen to reading. By having these items to offer to my students, they will be more likely to stay on task when necessary.
