As a teacher in a Title 1 School, my students come to my class every day facing challenges besides learning.
Yet, they walk into my class with smiles, full of energy, and ready to learn.
They like to move, explore, create, tell stories, and ask a million questions! I want to encourage all these behaviors while they are with me. My first step is to create a welcoming classroom where there is enough flexible seating for every student in my class!
My Project
For the last two years I have been integrating flexible seating in my classroom and my students excitement for learning, as well as, their academic success rose higher with each new item I bought or parent's donated. With the help of three generous donors I was able to complete my last project, and hope to finish my goal with this one!
With your help, I hope to start the year with a complete flexible seating classroom, and I cannot wait to see the difference it will make!
Flexible seating allows students to choose what best suits their needs, so they can become the best learners possible while encouraging healthy habits! It also creates an environment where students lead their learning! They are continually moving, discussing, exploring, creating, developing, sharing and engaged while learning!
