Moving Up! Chapter Reading, So My Students Can Shine!

My Students

We all know this year has been a year with so many challenges. Keeping students engaged while we move into an in-person learning model after being distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic is a top priority. Our students are highly motivated elementary school students who respond well to positive learning experiences.

They are dreamers, thinkers, highly motivated, and they know they’re awesome at reaching for the stars!

Our school provides a caring, diverse, safe, learning environment. I strive to create a library that provides this same environment.

This school reminds me of the same community I was raised in, which inspired me to become a teacher-librarian because of the multi-cultural diversity of the community. Be generous with your donations, this project might be small but our students will greatly benefit. It will definitely be sweet to have this project fully funded. You'll be glad you donated to our students because you'll be helping them be confident learners on their way to higher learning.

My Project

My students need some inspiration to motivate them to read chapter books confidently. They need some "sparks". These early chapter books will be just what they need to help them in their small reading groups to graduate confidently into reading chapter books.

These nonfiction and fiction titles will be "just right" for them, especially since CDs of the stories are included.

This project has everything we need to begin.

They will be so excited to listen to the stories. They will be even more excited while they are reading along!
