My students are preschoolers with Moderate to Severe Autism and Speech and Language Delays.
Here in my early intervention class, I reinforce their behavior, along with their language and life skills development. In my classroom we focus on how to communicate with others, take care of ourselves, and how to function in a society that notices differences. My students mean the world to me, and are beautiful children to know. I want to make sure that I can prepare them for life after they leave my classroom, and prepare them for the challenges ahead of them.
Many students enjoy music. This is especially true for children with Autism. Music is a simple way to encourage compliance, and engagement in almost any activity. Being a newer teacher, most items have been donated and are starting to fall apart.
Being able to play music in the classroom adapts almost anything to a level where my students can engage.
A new CD player with the abilities to play CD, tapes, and devices will open many doors to new music opportunities. The sturdy design will last in a classroom with students who can be rough on supplies. The design is also simple enough for them to change the tracks on their own.
