Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have the pleasure of working as a cluster teacher with students who have autism and down syndrome. I work with a group of students with a wide range of abilities. My students come in every day looking forward to our daily routines and soon to be able to enjoy the weather outdoors. They are filled with quite a bit of energy that sometimes we need extra breaks in between work to be able to release some of it to concentrate on our work.
My kindergarten through 2nd grade group have grown so much throughout this year and continue to show great potential.
My goal is to do all I can to make their learning environment a fun and positive experience.
My Project
My students have a wide range of abilities and energy levels. They have different sensory needs and some have the need to move around throughout the day.
With the ability to move while they work, my students will be able to meet their sensory needs and remain focused.
This chair will be a great addition to our seating options and bring more flexibility that will be sure motivate my class to remain in their work routine. With the ability to increase their focus, they will be able to attend more to their work and really engage in their learning environment. If moving to focus is what they need, then flexible seating is something we will be sure to incorporate.
