Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have the world's most wonderful students, and I haven't even met them yet! I am changing grade levels next school year and have the honor of teaching Science. With our ever changing world and environment, I am making this year an opportunity to teach the kids about waste. My goal is to have a zero waste classroom!
I believe our students will benefit from this because they will become more conscious about their everyday waste and impact on the Earth.
My Project
I am so lucky to have a class set of iPads! But, we are lacking headphones. Students use headphones for many different tasks... watching the latest science videos, listening to test to speech, and educational apps. I am working hard to have a zero waste classroom this year and aiming to be 90% paperless. I will do this through Google Classroom, STEM scopes, and discovery educations. Having them watch, listen, learn, and turn in their work through these apps will decrease our impact on the environment! Headphones will also allow our students to work at their own pace and revisit concepts they need reinforcement on without or being a distracted by other students iPad noise.
