My Students
This is an entire elementary school project. Beaverton school district is adopting a program called Culture of Care, which will lead to increased surround and care for all students, having a direct impact on learning. CMS is a pilot school for this program. This elementary school experiences a wide range of diversity, learning abilities, and economic backgrounds. The school also houses two classrooms for students with social communication challenges in addition to a full kindergarten to figth grade program.
My Project
Hokki Stools are ergonomically designed stools that transform stationary sitting into an activity. The Hokki Stool allows our students to be moving while “sitting still.” The base allows for students to move in all directions, which is critical to student development as physical movement both increases well-being and encourages the physical and intellectual maturing process. With the Hokki stool, our students will be able to get the movement they need while learning.
These 2 Hokki Stools will be shared among the teachers in our school while we work towards our goal of a school wide set for all of the teachers.
