My students need percussion instruments to play along, create, and compose! With brightly colored scarves and ribbon sticks, we can get our bodies moving to the music!
"Where words fail, music speaks!"
I am a new music teacher at this school, looking to bring much excitement and creativity to the music classroom! My goal is to build up our supply of fun and exciting music making instruments and movement props in order to instill a love of music in these children.
These students need the opportunity to express themselves and build self-confidence through the power of music making.
Most of these students are English Language learners who are excited about music and its many possibilities! Increased instruments and movement props will produce many opportunities for creativity, improvisation, and composition in the music classroom!
My Project
The percussion instruments may be used for a variety of fun activities, including instrument play-along, improvisation, and composition activities. They are also great for adding "soundtracks" to stories! The movements props are great for exploratory movement and creative/improvisational movement to stories, pieces of music, and songs!
Since I am a new teacher there, I will spend a good bit of time building up the music classroom collection of fun and interactive props(colored scarves and ribbon sticks) and instruments for a more comprehensive and enjoyable music making experience for these children.
By having a wide variety of instruments to play and props to use while creating music, children can truly engage in the fully engaging activity of music making and experiencing all that music can bring to their souls! "Where words fail, music speaks!"
