Help me give my students balance chairs to get them out of their seats in order to best maximize learning. If we want our children to move mountains, we must first get them out of their chairs.
As a teacher in a very diverse and low income area, our school and classroom are faced with many challenges. Even through all of the challenges, we have an amazing community that helps support our school and our students.
My classroom is comprised of 23 energetic first graders who show up eager and ready to learn.
In our room, we are a family and we learn to work hard and work together. My love for teaching is contagious and it is my hope to spread that joy to my students. Being a new teacher, our classroom is need of some materials in order to best support and meet the needs of all of my students.
My Project
Flexible seating allows students to work within the classroom that will maximize their learning. Allowing students the choice gives them empowerment over their environment. Children also need to move. They need to wiggle, rock, bounce, or stand while learning. Physical activity has been proven to increase academic achievement and improve behaviors.
I have many students within my classroom that work best when they are able to move while learning and get their wiggles out.
By supporting this project, students will be able to use balance chairs as a way to adapt to their needs in order to support their learning. These are more than just balance chairs. They will take my students learning to another level because they will be able to focus. I thank you in advance for all of your support!
