Our school and students are very unique. We are a diverse community school of approximately 1,100 students in the middle of one large neighborhood. Our students are creative, smart, and work hard to improve their learning.
Approximately 16% of our students come from military families and that brings many challenges to them at home and school.
We have an ever changing community and school population, but still have that small town atmosphere. We are a school where everyone knows your name.
My Project
Our students work very hard throughout the year to achieve success academically. In the spring, we take our state test. To reward students for keeping up their grades, having excellent behavior, and doing their best on the state testing, we would like to have a Moving Up party for them. This party will include a lot of outdoor fun, including hamster balls and an obstacle course. We are creating this project in hopes that our community will make donations so that we can provide this day for ALL students free of charge. There have been times in the past when students did not participate in activities because of money issues. This party will also help in keeping our students focused and motivated for the last quarter of school.
