The students in the band classes are already on their way to a great product! We have been practicing hard every day, honing our playing, tuning, listening, and presentation skills. My students are bright, focused, and love being challenged. After having so much success as a first year program last year, I can't wait to see where these kids go! From getting a '1' rating at contest, to playing two concerts and several school and community events, the students are school ambassadors and add so much to our community.
These musicians rock the house, but we need music that suits our ability level and beyond so that we can prepare amazing concerts and experiences.
These kids are so dedicated, talented, and driven. They represent the inspiration, fun, and excitement at our school!
Music plays such a huge role in our school community. It gives students the chance to express their happiness, sadness, anger, love, and so many other emotions that school-aged children experience.
My Project
The music that we prepare, perform, and love is so important in the band classes. We need stimulating, challenging, and engaging music to move our skills forward. This music is some of the most beloved music of all time and being able to share this with the students is going to be so life changing. They have been asking for new music for at least a year! The scores are for our concerts next year, 2018-2019. We are requesting some holiday pieces, some soloist-focused pieces, and some pop music to include in our repertoire.
Students who are invested and interested in the music they are making are the most successful!
I know that with these materials, scores, and parts we will be able to cherish the music together every day in band. The students need to play music they can relate to, and everyone loves Michael Jackson! I have listened to my students' requests and ideas and feel that the music in the cart will fulfill my music standard expectations while making a lasting impression on their band experience.
