This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are the oldest year-round school in the nation. We are a California public school in the Bay Area. Most of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. On the weekend, they may receive fresh food from local organizations. Many of their home languages are not English. We are a multicultural community and most of us are minorities. Our classroom is a portable and our resources are limited; however, the students enjoy learning and coming to school. We try our best to learn and dream for a better future.

My Project

Majority we are primary students from grade 1 to grade 3. Currently during the Covid-19 restrictions, many music activities have to move outdoors for health concerns. Moving music materials in and out the classroom is not easy. The outdoor space may be far from the music room. My students need a cart with wheels to transport materials and instruments in and out the music room. This project will provide the class with a tool which will be able to carry out the heavy duty and get the instruments and materials ready for their daily practice.
