This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are in love with COMPETITION and March Madness is the perfect way to get them to participate in reading. The novels chosen for March Madness this year are books that always fly off the bookshelves! Half of the novels chosen are brand new and the other half are past winners.

Having high interest novels in an ELA classroom is imperative to growing students' reading identity!

Not to mention, the topics addressed in these books range from friendship, bullying, school, love, family, history, and so many other topics that seventh graders face on a daily basis or in our world.
