Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The support level needs to remain high for our young music program to thrive. The administration has continue to support music education by filling my classes with wonderful students!
I work with energetic, enthusiastic students from grades 7 all the way up to grade 12.
My school is relatively young but the results we receive are quite remarkable despite the school not being around that long. The students take great pride in what we have accomplished during the inaugural year of our music program and they look forward to moving forward!
My Project
This year as we continue to build upon the foundation of fundamentals in music, we have to increase their knowledge with regards to scales and intonation in order to make great strides. The iPad Mini will enable this to become a reality. There are multiple apps that will help me to achieve this. Scale-master, Practice center and various intonation apps will allow the students to hear and make adjustments when they're playing their various instruments. Scales are fundamental to learning various pieces of music in the instrumental/choral classroom setting. Intonation and tuning allows the ensemble to go from sounding average to outstanding!
This donation will improve the classroom by allowing music technology to be a vital part of my instruction process.
Students need this technology in the unique music classroom so they can see that we are not antiquated, we must stay up with the cutting edge of technology. It will change their lives because despite cutbacks in education they will see that we are still being supported and music education is an essential vital part of the fabric of our society!
