My student-athletes have mental toughness. My student-athletes have compassion. My student-athletes have a love for the game, that I've also loved my whole life. My student-athletes work hard all year, running and lifting, stick in hand. They have goals. They want to compete. As a teacher, and as a coach, I understand the importance of organized sports in our lives, and the life long lessons it imparts on our youth.
We learn how to support one another, to honor our competitor, to lead with positivity and confidence, and the result is a team that has dignity and a belief in itself.
You can't teach that in the classroom.
Many of our players join the team never having played, and also many are on the path of being the first in their families to attend college. For some, sports can be a gateway to college, and we want to help those students with limited resources achieve their dreams.
My Project
These resources will allow our athletes to improve their speed, strength and agility using some of the most current training models in athletics. We have a limited amount of time and space with our players and it is extremely important that we get the most out of our time to give them the best chance to succeed.
By giving them the ability to train at a high level, with the same professional equipment used by our competition, we can ensure that they are faster, more agile and most importantly, injury free on the field.
Through the use of these tools we will be able to make more of our practice time and ensure that our athletes are on a level playing field with those they compete against.
