I teach gifted learners from all over the city. They are interested in so many different ideas and topics. We have a diverse student body, with some kids who have had a lot of experiences and some kids who have more limited experiences. Most of my students enjoy learning and get excited about new information and skills.
"I see the Indian mounds we talked about in class!" said one of my students at a recent trip to the Ohio History Center.
The kids love to make connections between what we do in class and the real world. They are passionately interested in making the world a better place and in having equality for everyone.
My Project
These Hokki stools, which enable gentle movement, will help my students to stay focused while they work. Many studies show that movement is helpful for kids while they are learning and working, and my classroom has always been a place where kids can choose to work in flexible arrangements.
The Hokki stools would give students an excellent opportunity to sit on a comfortable seat with controlled movement while they work on projects.
I have seen how effective alternative seating can be in helping kids to focus and learn. The stools would also be portable so that students could possibly use them in special classes as well.
