Moving Around the Room with Flex Seating

Help me give my students surf portable lap desks for a flexible seating option in my kindergarten classroom. This is a great option to have during small/large group instruction so students can choose to work on the floor.

My Students

My students are officially entering the world of education! Kindergarten is such a huge year for these students and I want to make sure I am fully equipped for it. My students come from all different backgrounds and create a diverse environment in the classroom.

With the unique diversity, differentiation is key.

I want to make sure all of my students are getting the supports they need to be successful.

My Project

Flexible seating will allow my students to move around the classroom while working independently during small group instruction. Flexible seating gives students an option on where they want to sit in the room. This can increase their motivation in the classroom because they are given a choice and feel comfortable where they are working. Kindergarteners are still getting use to school and will really enjoy being able to sit on the floor. I want to make sure they have the right resources available so they can work diligently while sitting down there. Flexible seating also allows for collaboration opportunities amongst students. This can also prevent instructional distractions if students are able to move to different locations.
