My Students

My students are energetic and always ready to move! They love to learn and to be at school! We have a great time together!

I have been teaching for 22 years and have seen the changes in the things that students need.

I think it would be great to have some options for them when it comes to seating for activities! I always allow them to stand or lay on the floor to do their work. This would provide them with a different seating option! They have had experiences in other classes with wobble stools and I’d love for them to have that opportunity in my classroom!

My Project

These wobble stools will help my students move while they learn! They can also be incentives and rewards for a job well done! This will give them options for comfort and sensory stimulation as they work. Some students are completely fine in regular chairs but this will offer those that need something different an option. The options for using these are endless: small groups, computers, rewards, center activities, etc. In small groups, we can use these as alternate seating options and at the computers, they can move as they play their learning games. Having options can be motivating for them. It will not always be the standard sit in your desk to do your work. Now they can wobble and wiggle if they need it!
