My Students

I teach first grade at a school in Watson, Louisiana. The majority of my students come from low income families. There are serveral students that live in a home with a single parent, grandparents, or foster parents. My class is an inclusion classroom with many students who have been diagnosed with learning disabilities, ADD, ADHD, and sensory challenges. Despite their backgrounds all of my students come to school everyday happy, excited to learn, and with a lot of energy! My students are eager to learn and grow!

My Project

My class has students with very diverse academic levels and learning styles. All of my students work hard and are eager to learn. However, staying on task and remaining focused can be a challenge for some of the students. By adding wobble cushions in my classroom will help increase student engagement, focus, and productivity. First graders have a lot of energy! Having flexible seating options in my classroom will provide my students a way to get some of their extra energy out while helping them to stay focused and learn. These seating options are perfect for students with ADD, ADHD, sensory challenges, and learning disabilities. By adding wobble cushions to my classroom I will be able to create a more engaging learning environment for all of my students!
