My students are inquisitive, adventurous, caring, and very imaginative. As with most kindergartners they need to explore and have a love for learning.
My class work together nicely and they come up with some pretty fabulous projects.
Whether making something from paper or using blocks they are very creative.
I would love to have flexible seating that would benefit all my students. My students interact well together and love to sit in other areas besides from the tradition desk and chairs. Flexible seating makes it easier for them to interact and learn together.
My Project
I know that flexible seating will make my classroom more engaging for all students.
I teach 5 and 6 year olds and I have learned that the more they move the more they are engaged.
With flexible seating such as the Gaiam Balance ball chairs, and the Active Learning Chairs the students are working, but getting all their wiggles and jiggles out while being able to interact with each other in a more comfortable setting. The Lap desks let the students work in small groups through out the classroom.
Flexible seating is costly but it is very effective. If you have ever been in a kindergarten room you know how active, but eager they are to learn. We do rotations with different activities giving the students plenty opportunity to move around. I know with flexible seating my students will be so excited to move throughout the rotations with different seating and areas to work in.
