My Students

My students are unique learners. They are all very funny and bright, but most of my students have a learning disability that sometimes makes learning difficult. A lot of my students have a constant need to move and a lot of trouble working together in the classroom. We have a lot of obstacles to overcome and energy in the classroom, which makes a focus on reading challenging.

My students want to learn and just need more flexibility to help them flourish.

My Project

My middle school students are reading below grade level. Some of them are reading several grade levels below where they should be, which makes progress in every class difficult. We have a fantastic reading intervention program that can help us to make incredible reading gains; however, my students are struggling to stay focused.

My students need more movement and flexibility, and I need them to be able to move without distracting others.

I also want them to be comfortable and happy in order to make reading more enjoyable. I think flexible seating provided by the two Kore chairs and two ball chairs will do just that. We are also in need of headphones to fully utilize our reading software and achieve our reading goals.
