Our school is located in a beautiful town in south Texas. Apart of a school system that I myself grew up in and graduated from. Pre-Kindergarten programs can be such an exciting first step in my student's lives. We like to call my classroom the room of "firsts". First time a child has left mom & dad for the day at school, first time they learned how to make a new friend, first time to play on the big monkey bars at school, etc.
My students are a young, active, and wiggly bunch who are excited to explore and unlock all of the learning that is in store for them.
While my students are just getting started in their school journey, I believe that providing them with a comfortable and safe space to explore and learn is the key to success.
My Project
By having several seating options like wobble seats, bean bag chairs, cushions, and flex chairs available for young learners they are building self confidence in their choice making skills as well as learning more about their own self. Providing a variety of seating options like wobble chairs, and bean bags allows students to choose what's best for them in that moment and what will help them be successful in learning.
My goal is to create a comfortable learning environment for my students to build confidence, academic knowledge, and grow their level of independence.
By giving students choice in the places that they work and the type of seating they use it encourages kiddos to really dig deep and find what's best for them.
