Our Gifted & Talented students are always needing new and exciting challenges: however, sometimes they are overlooked because everyone thinks they will "get it on their own." For many of my students, that may be a true statement, but that does not make their educational needs any less important.
Statistics show that many of our identified GT students will go on to be the movers and shakers in our community.
The will be the doctors, lawyers, educators, small business owners. Already, even at this young ahead, my students are thinking ahead. Thinking about their future. Looking for ways to make a difference. They are not intimidated by the world at large.
They want to explore. They want to learn. They want to see what's out there and jump right in. Please help me put them on the fast track to achieving their dreams.
My Project
My GT students love technology and they teach me something new every day. Our school is not a 1:1 technology school. Each day I have to search the school for chromebooks other teachers aren't using in their content classroom. There are many days that all of our available chromebooks are being used elsewhere and I have to revise my plans. Some days, I feel like a stalker!
Having my own designated chromebooks will allow me to arrive at class knowing I have the tools ready to challenge my students and plan activities without worrying about the availability of technology.
Last year we learned about coding, took virtual field trips, researched natural disasters and more. This year I have big plans for them. Having readily available chromebooks will let them dive right in and get started the moment they walk through my door. There are so many resources out there that are perfectly suited for my bright, inquisitive students. With ready-made technology waiting for them each day, the sky is the limit this year.
