Movement Matters: Wiggle to Learn

My students need 5 wobble chairs to help them wiggle and learn at the same time. Six hours sitting in the classroom it a long time to sit when you are 9 or 10 years old.

My Students

My fourth graders are fantastic kids! These students are extremely creative and hardworking. They enjoy the outdoors, new experiences, and of course art. They especially love STEM and are focused on being leaders within the school and in their future careers.

My students love to learn but have limited resources.

This is due to attending a small school in a low income area. May students face unbelievable challenges in their home life and this makes focusing on school work difficult.

My Project

The five wobble chairs will be used daily in class. These chairs will help students move in the classroom without disrupting the learning of others.

Movement is essential in the classroom for learning at this age.

Traditional chairs pose safety issues when students try to tip them back or forward because they need to move. I am sure that we all remember kids falling off of chairs and teachers telling students to keep all four chair legs on the floor. Every student should have access to safe ways to move.

Please help me provide these wobble chairs for my students this year and for many years to come.
